Sonny's Sponsored Sail for Sport Relief
Cadet Sonny Hart chose to raise money for Sport Relief in a different way to his schoolmates. Whilst they chose running, or cycling, or a football match, Sonny decided to go for a sponsored sail. On Sunday 9 March 2008, under overcast skies, a grey sea, and variable wind conditions he set off to sail up to Colne Point and back. Shortly after he started the rain came down, and then a couple of squalls went through, but Sonny kept going and after a beat down the coast the sun decided to make a brief appearance. This provided a slightly more pleasant return journey running back to the Club. Armed with a signed letter from the Commodore to confirm he completed the sail, and some photographs of him on route, Sonny collected his sponsorship money and raised over £200 which was presented to Sport Relief.
